This isn’t the sort of question that can be answered in a sentence, or indeed a blog post. Firstly because creating one video isn’t generally going to be the best use of video for your event.
Think about it – you’ve got a camera operator or crew there for at least a day, paying for their time, equipment and (most importantly) expertise, and you get one short video! In reality, it’s possible to get so much more: vox pops, social clips, testimonials, buzz-generators for your next event, thank you videos, short documentary style content, and so much more.
> If it’s more ‘corporate’ video you’re after – such as case studies, a day in the life and so on – check out how much a corporate video should cost here.
Getting the most out of video for your event
Instead, I’m going to give you a couple of examples, and explain why, by increasing your investment, you get disproportionately more content for your buck.
Package 1: Make a splash
This package costs £1800, and you’ll get:
- 1x Highlight reel
- 3x Social reels
This content can be posted immediately after the event and used in the run up your next event to generate hype. It’s great if budgets are a little tight because you still get to generate some FOMO and show the world all the amazing stuff that happened, without breaking the bank.
I’m not a huge fan of purely visual reels (think ‘clips set to music’), because I’m not convinced anyone actually watches them if they’re longer than about 20 seconds. That’s why all your content will include attendees speaking about the event, telling your audience what they’ve gained from it, and generally making people jealous they weren’t there!
Package 2: Content farm
This packages costs £4500, which will get you:
- 1x Highlight reel
- 10x Social reels
- 5x Testimonials
The price is higher, but you get 4x the content! We’ll generally film the testimonials as sit-down interviews with your clients too, meaning that there’ll likely be tons of footage that can be turned into even more content if you so choose, where you’ll only be paying for the editing, with no additional shooting needed.
Finding the best deal for your event’s video content
You will, of course, find packages that cost far more than this, and quite a lot less. As with all things, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If someone is offering you Package 1 for £800, there’s probably a reason for that. Likewise, if someone’s asking for £25000 for Package 2, again, you may be paying for capacity you don’t really need, and essentially subsidising the work of their bigger clients.
All of my packages can be tailored (and generally are!), and there’s an extensive pre-sale process of discovery to ensure that what I offer you is effective and works with your budget. All packages also include an in-depth pre-production process.
